Business Communication & Presentation Advisory

Turn Complex Business Information Into a Presentation People Can Follow and Act On.

Astute helps organisations develop investor decks, board presentations, tender presentations, strategy reviews and other important business presentations. We work on the storyline, information hierarchy, charts, slide structure and visual presentation so the audience can understand the case, the evidence and the decision being requested.

Not sure whether you need a full presentation developed, an existing deck redesigned, or stronger underlying business analysis first? Use the Astute Business Adviser on this page and explain the meeting, audience and outcome.

Audience and decision firstThe deck is structured around who will see it, what they need to understand and what they are expected to decide or do.
Storyline before decorationSlide design follows the argument and evidence instead of hiding weak logic behind attractive visuals.
Figures stay defensibleCharts, claims and performance statements should remain consistent with the source information supplied or approved by the client.
Visuals support comprehensionCharts, tables, diagrams and hierarchy are used to make important information easier to understand rather than simply make slides look busy.

More than slide formatting

A Good Presentation Organises the Argument Before It Improves the Appearance.

A polished deck can still fail if the message is unclear, the evidence is poorly ordered or the audience cannot see what decision is being requested. Astute therefore starts with the business story, audience, objective and evidence before refining the visual presentation.

The result should be easier to follow, easier to present and more useful to the people who must make a decision.

What Presentation Support Do You Actually Need?

The right scope depends on whether the content already exists and how important the presentation is to the decision.

Some clients mainly need visual improvement. Others need the storyline, business case and slide content rebuilt before design begins.

Full presentation development is usually suitable when:

  • You have source documents, data or ideas, but the storyline and slide structure still need to be developed.
  • The presentation is for investors, a board, a tender panel or another audience where the sequence and business case matter as much as the visual design.
  • Several documents or contributors need to be turned into one coherent executive presentation.
  • Important charts, tables, financial information or recommendations need to be simplified and presented more clearly.

A more focused service may be better when:

  • The storyline and content are already strong and you mainly need a professional visual redesign of the existing slides.
  • The main weakness is the underlying investor or funding case rather than the slides. Business Plan Consulting or Financial Modelling may need to come first.
  • The presentation is part of a live procurement process and the written response still needs work. Tender & Proposal Advisory may be the better starting point.
  • The market claims or commercial assumptions are still weak. Market Research may be needed before the deck can make a credible case.

Where presentations go wrong

The problem is often information design, not PowerPoint.

01Too much information

Slides become documents because everything is included instead of deciding what the audience actually needs to see.

02No clear storyline

Facts are correct, but the sequence does not build toward a conclusion, recommendation or decision.

03Weak evidence hierarchy

Important figures, assumptions and risks compete visually with minor details.

04Generic design

The deck looks professional at first glance but does not reflect the organisation, purpose or audience.

05Inconsistent charts and figures

Data is difficult to compare because charts, labels, units and assumptions are not controlled consistently.

06No decision focus

The audience reaches the final slide without a clear understanding of what management wants them to approve, fund or do.

Our working principle

Design Should Support the Business Case, Not Distract From It.

We use restrained visual hierarchy, consistent typography, purposeful charts and clear sectioning so the audience can concentrate on the argument, evidence and decision.

01Start with audience and purpose

Investor, board, buyer and client presentations require different emphasis and levels of detail.

02Build a logical narrative

The sequence should move naturally from context and evidence to recommendation, ask or decision.

03Use visuals to clarify

Charts, tables, diagrams and callouts should simplify important information rather than decorate the page.

04Keep claims defensible

Figures, credentials and performance statements should be accurate, supportable and consistent with source documents.

What Makes the Presentation Credible

A polished deck should make the business case easier to understand, not harder to question.

Presentation quality depends on both design and content discipline. A visually strong slide should still be accurate, consistent with the underlying information and appropriate for the intended audience.

The audience determines what gets emphasised.

An investor, board member, tender evaluator and client may need different levels of detail, evidence and decision framing.

Source information is reviewed before redesign.

Where possible, the deck should be built from the latest approved documents, data and business information rather than disconnected slide fragments.

Important figures are presented consistently.

Units, time periods, labels, assumptions and chart logic should not change from slide to slide without explanation.

Client approval remains important.

Astute can structure and improve the deck, but management remains responsible for approving the factual claims, commitments and figures presented in its name.

Frequently asked questions

Questions buyers usually ask before engaging presentation support.

These are the practical questions that usually affect scope, cost, content responsibility, revisions and the level of presentation-development support required.

Can you redesign an existing PowerPoint presentation?

Yes. The scope can range from visual redesign and consistency correction to deeper restructuring of the storyline and slide content.

Can you create a presentation from a business plan or report?

Yes. We can extract and reorganise the decision-relevant content from a longer document into a presentation suitable for the intended audience.

Do you prepare investor pitch decks?

Yes. Pitch-deck support can cover the business story, market opportunity, business model, team, traction, financial case and investment requirement where the source information is available.

Can you help with tender presentation preparation?

Yes. We can support presentations required after a tender submission, including clarification or proposal-defence sessions, provided the underlying tender information is available.

Will you invent figures or claims to make the presentation stronger?

No. Business presentations should use accurate and supportable information. Where evidence is missing, it should be identified rather than fabricated.

Can you work with our existing corporate template?

Yes. Existing brand and presentation standards can be retained and improved where they are suitable for the engagement.

How much does business presentation design cost?

The fee depends on presentation type, slide count, content readiness, storyline development, charts and diagrams, financial content, animation, branding, revisions and deadline. Use the calculator on this page for an indicative estimate. The final professional fee is confirmed after the actual requirement and source material are reviewed.

Can you redesign an existing PowerPoint without changing the content?

Yes. Where the content and storyline are already approved, the engagement can focus mainly on visual hierarchy, layout, consistency, charts, tables and brand alignment. We will identify any obvious issues that could affect clarity, but major content development can remain outside scope if that is what the client wants.

Will you write the whole presentation for us?

Where content development is included in scope, Astute can help build the storyline and draft slide content from source information supplied or approved by the client. The exact split between client-provided content, editing and full content development should be agreed before work begins.

How many revisions are included?

The number and type of revision rounds should be confirmed in the agreed scope. Revisions caused by new source information, a major change in direction or additional slides may need to be treated separately from normal refinement of the agreed deck.

Can you prepare charts and financial slides from Excel or other source data?

Yes, where the source data is provided and the required analysis is within the agreed scope. If the financial model itself needs to be built or corrected, Financial Modelling may need to be scoped separately.

Can you guarantee that investors, a board or tender panel will approve the presentation?

No. The final decision belongs to the audience and depends on the underlying business case, evidence, competition and other factors outside the designer's control. Astute's role is to make the presentation clearer, more coherent and more professionally structured.
